What it is...

I remember a saying that I first heard while serving in the Navy: Hurry up and wait.

Anyone who has served in the military is familiar with the oxymoron. A constant cause for frustration, we would be hurried from place to place, only to wait for what seemed an eternity.

I now find myself sometimes envious of those days of near endless time. Busy doesn't even remotely describe my life, and I know my life pales in comparison to others...

Another Fire academy is in full swing, consuming two nights a week and too many hours during the week trying to stay ahead of the admin side of it.

The bill paying job has been a bit slower, but no less demanding, taking it's 40+ a week.

Next, but first on the priority list, is family time. I'll include the normal household chores and"Honey Do" list here. Soccer season is going full bore, with two afternoons of practice a week and two games on Saturday.

I'm not complaining, and I wouldn't trade it for the world, but the days and weeks sure do fly by.

So consider this a long winded apology for having not posted anything recently. Granted, I haven't had any complaints... It's not from a lack of material, it's just that I would rather spend time with my family or share my little bit of spare time with new recruits than type these silly posts for the two or three of you to read.

Maybe if I find myself in a line "hurrying up to wait", I'll start posting a bit more regularly again.
